It’s been five years since I started this website. Things have changed a lot on personal, professional and political levels since 2014. But one question remains quite strong in what I think my role in the intersections of academia, activism and social change should be: What’s the point of doing social sciences when our increasingly unequal world seems to be going bonkers? Don’t misunderstand me. This is not a fatalistic question. Just the opposite: it is a question about searching for meaning, defining purpose and building hope. And dealing with the many dimensions of this question, institutionalized academic writing will not do. So I thought I’d change this website into a space for working ideas that might lead to answers.
